Personality and Past Overview

Generally Ren is seen to be put together and level-headed, perhaps even sophisticated to some with a an air of loneliness. As a child, the longing for a friendship was strong enough to make her quite rebellious. After having met Haku, Ren would run from home various times to see and play with him. Haku is one person to eventually see what Ren is truly like; warm-hearted, very playful by nature, sincere, emotional, a bit stubborn, brash and a risk-taker.

After the loss of her friend she has become that much more reluctant toward becoming close to anyone, in fear they will disappear. During this time she is seen as quiet, diffident and not one to usually approach others unless necessary. Ren is also seen to be rather harsh, though by no means does she have a short temper. In battle especially she can get rather intense, and depending on the circumstances, she’s one who won’t hesitate to kill. Her clan is much like the Inuzuka, though with a feline approach. Lots of the things that feed into a cats personality feed into Ren’s as well as she is usually shy, curious and a little bit impulsive and relentless. She’s one who is keen in her senses and generally if she ends up in a rut, she is a good problem solver.

 Her father is one who is quite power-hungry, and after retiring from his job as an anbu, he’s pushed all of his studies onto her. Seeing his daughter’s destiny to be a very powerful shinobi, he took advantage of this and kept her isolated in a small shack behind their home for strict training. Though her abilities grew rapidly, she realized what her father’s intentions were; to isolate her and use her as a weapon. At the age of eight is when she grew more aware and tried to run away multiple times, though was found quickly and received harsh lectures, often times even physical harm.

For a long time, Ren’s mother Hisui was afraid to speak up about how she felt her daughter should live, being as soft-spoken as she was. She wanted what Ren wanted—for her to go to an academy and make friends like a normal girl. As soon as Ren’s father saw that Hisui was edging towards running away with her, he got rid of her, feeling she was only getting in the way of Ren’s “success”. Not long after that incident, Ren’s father was discovered by officials in Kiri, and was locked away. Ren was taken in and after being evaluated by the Mizukage, she was announced an elite at the age of 14, based on her keen uses of elemental jutsu and especially her sensory prowess and taijutsu. She was admitted into an all-girl organization for elite ninja, though was not happy living there, feeling outcasted  due to having been admitted in at such a young age.

Ren now resides in an abandoned cottage in the outskirts of Kiri, and focuses her time on working missions for the village, etc.

「Favorites and Hobbies」

food – Tekkadon(鉄火丼) donburi topped with tuna sashimi, or any dish including noodles, rice and especially fish and meat. Her favored dessert is Karumeyaki, a brown sugar cake.

Relationships

Hisui (Mother) 

As a child Ren feels sorry for her mother, since she is so frail and soft-spoken, seemingly nothing compared to her father. She feels a strong closeness to her, and the loss of her is something forever pooling in her mind. There’s a feeling of regret that she wasn’t strong enough to protect her during her death. As she grows older though, the feelings of pity are replaced by the realization she never wants to be like her, never wants to be so soft-spoken.

Kyo (Father) 

For a while Ren was indeed afraid of her dad, around the age of 6 though she learned to try to stand up to him after noticing her mother never did. After becoming aware she was being locked away for his own benefit, she started to run off at night. She isn’t afraid of her father, and as she grows older holds a grudge against him.

Haku 

By far one of the most important people to her, Haku was Ren’s first friend. After seeing him while going to the shop with her father one day, she offered him food, noting how skinny and lonely he looked. Though of course as soon as her father noticed she was scolded and even hit. Either way, she felt she and Haku were similar and went to see him often, and they grew close to the point of hiding under bridges and talking for hours, sharing a blanket, cuddling etc. As they get older, newer feelings do arise. Being as curious as she is, Ren is often the one to initiate things to explore these feelings, opening a door for them both. After the loss of Zabuza and the initial shock from it, Haku eventually realizes he may have been being used to a degree. Naturally he decides to shift his purpose to protecting Ren. In turn Ren vows to do the same and offer him a little more freedom as an individual, which takes some getting used to though Haku grows to appreciate this. 

Abilities, Kekkei Genkai, Etc

「Abilities」

Ren's clan is very much like the Inuzuki clan of the Leaf, and it's members have a keen sense of every basic human sense. Balance and agility are greatly escalated in each holder. Because of this, Taijutsu is a main component in how they fight, in addition to elemental jutsu. There is a gateway that they can unlock, in which chakra is channeled and potent that increases these abilities further. This can only be achieved through great skill and is effective though takes a toll on the user.
