Personality and Past Overview

Naota  was born in the midst of Ame, her name meaning 'honesty', was chosen by her mother, as her intentions for raising Naota would be to show her what she believed to be the truth about their world. The problem with her beliefs though were that they were twisted, and would set the foundation for a girl with several issues. Shortly before her birth, her father (also the wielder of the kekkei genkai) parted from Midori (mother), on several occasions he had insisted her mother had really serious issues. Midori, a few years before Naota was conceived, joined an assassination unit in Ame and realized her passion for bloodshed. This, after her departure with Naota's father, spun out of control. Midori was stuck in a drawn out depression, and the duration of Naota's childhood consisted of neglect.

Once she reached a certain age though, Midori went on to show her daughter the 'truth', often telling Naota as she brought home a victim, that people died every day and killing people was a part shinobi life. According to her, it was healthy to kill people, in her case right in front of her child, she demonstrated just how to get the job done. Lots of times she even told her these people deserved it, they were scum. This all had Naota thinking however, after an amount of time. Lots of the victims looked innocent, and she found the loophole of her mother being the scum with her killing sprees and neglect towards her. It was not long until Naota decided to take her mother's life herself, at a rather young age and in the same brutal ways Midori had shown to her. In her mind, Naota vowed to never take an innocent life. Though strangely, the thrill of it all was something she found appealing. She's grown to have a very empty and melancholic demeanor, and though she does try to stand by her word of not being a mass murderer, Naota does have a history of taking lives rather mercilessly and her unique use of genjutsu has earned a title around Ame and the corners of other countries. One could say that once you get her worked up enough, she is full of a sort of cold rage and is actually very menacing, often cruel in how she pinpoints an enemy's fears and uses it against them. Of course, this is a sort of method in scaring them off before she ends them. 

As a child she was shunned by any potential friends, and is feared by most, and in turn isn't too keen on close relationships, though there is a clear emptiness about her, and she does feel pain often and a longing for someone close and is extremely emotional when alone at times, sometimes to the point of lunacy. This is masked expertly however, as at this point in her life she thinks it pointless to pursue anything with people who think she's a monster. It does change gradually after joining the Akatsuki, a place among other feared individuals and a place she learns to call home.

food –She favors anything with salmon, pork or crab. Rice, and especially tea are things she likes, Genmaicha being her favored tea.

Relationships

Midori (Mother) She has never felt much of anything for her mother other than loathing. Taking her life is something that, to this day, she doesn't regret. She looks at her mother as the perfect example of who she never wants to be. At times however, she feels like a monster, herself.

Shuji (Father) Naota knows nothing of her father other than he abandoned her at the worst time. Despite not knowing him she holds no respect for him, though she does wonder every once in a while if she'd run into him and whether he is even alive.

Sasori (RP plot) Upon meeting him Naota has a fascination, as she is interested in art in general. At first she feels like they are repelling with their general distant personalities. Sasori however is someone she learns to be closer to. She feels they are similar in lots of ways and—even if she wouldn't admit it at first—has an attraction toward him. Because of this she often feels on edge around him and even awkward since she never quite notices men or anyone in general. Sasori, to her is like a gateway that eventually allows her to regain her true self, and to be able to achieve her dream of becoming closer to others and not only being seen as something to avoid. Sasori, after noting their obvious similarities, subconsciously proceeds to try to avoid her finding out he is a puppet, and anytime they accidentally touch or anything of the sort, he gets angry unintentionally and tries to draw away from her. This is almost impossible though since they are partnered together, and eventually Sasori has to question why he tries to hide this fact from her. He comes to find it is because he has feelings for her, and is unsure how Naota would view him if she knew his truth. He often gets very frustrated at his conflicting emotions towards her, knowing he's usually one to take pride in his body. After a while of getting closer to Naota, he comes to terms with himself and then after getting upset at not feeling "there" with Naota fully, decides to make it a goal to become human again.

「Kekkei Genkai Overview and Abilities」

name – Youma no Kontan (Ghost Soul)

appearance– Carriers of this kekkei genkai have pale white skin and hair. More rarely this is also joined with pale blue eyes.

Kekkei genkai abilities/info- This kekkei genkai enables it's user to possess their opponents, move through objects, invisibility, possession of inanimate objects, illusions and so on. Most of these techniques use a vast amount of chakra and any carriers typically use a weapon to assist them when their chakra vanquishes. Naota's father was the carrier in this case, and is the only other known person to have the abilities.
