Story Summary
Ville Valo is a half vampire and next in line to become the ruler of his Sanctum. However he is also tied into his other life as a 'human' musician. It is his destiny to be linked to a soulmate of either human or halfblood decent, and it turns out him being drawn to human life is linked to who he later discovers to be his human soulmate. Through his music and abilities he vaguely shows Sarah what is to come into her life, and eventually the truth in unveiled and her life takes a turn. Full vampires and demons have a loathing for halfbloods and anyone associated with them, thus Ville and he being next in line to rule make him a prime target. Luckily he is of royal decent and is a very powerful halfblood with rare abilities, and he and his friends Linde the demigod and Mige the werewolfe must help to ward off the demons and protect Sarah, and then later train her to be a powerful halfblood princess.
In depth details about the plot
Ville Valo and a few of his band mates are what their kind refer to as 'puolikas vampyyri' or half vampires and reside in a realm that can only be accessed by them or, any similar beings if they have their hands on the right stones, energy or magic. Crossing over to the human world is generally forbidden, especially in regards to demons or full vampires as they are usually very hostile (Though it doesn't mean they listen). Romance or even rape between a male vampyyri and female human has been around for decades and now the half community has torn its way from the full vampyyri as the half bloods live in harmony with humans and typically have more control over a blood lust. Nowadays it is more common for a human and halfblood to get together or two halfbloods. A full vampire and human falling in love is much more unheard of as they have grown to be less and less humane. Ville Valo, Mige and Linde are all a part of the 5th sanctum. Burton and Gas are each aware of this and have kept it secret. Halfbloods are permitted to live amongst humans, thus their double lives though some might still only stay in their sanctum or among humans as they wish. It all really depends on who they end up being drawn to. These beings still do have notable strength and abilities, sometimes unique ones.
The 5th Sanctum -- Where the halfbloods typically live--is a cold and snowy place, with ice pillars, small villages, forests and large castles. (Alot like what you'd see in the videos for 'The Funeral of Hearts', 'Join Me in Death', and 'And Love Said No'.) A lot like a medieval town, only the snow never ceases and they are used to this cold but do enjoy sitting by a fire. The sun is also always blocked by a thick sheet of clouds and at night the sky is clear and full of stars. There are in fact 7 realms:

Halfblood/Vampire Appearances, Weaknesses etc -- Half vampires are usually very pale with dark bags under their eyes, their eyes also are not too different from how they would appear as a human, just a bit more washed out in color. So a half blood with otherwise dark brown eyes would have greyish eyes, blue or green would be closer to pale or white etc. Their skin and bodies are typically much stronger than a human's, their intuition is also very strong and average body temperature is 83.6 degrees, a full vampire in this case would be around 65 degrees. A half blood does not bleed red, their skin and muscles are much harder to break than a human's though the texture is not too different, they do secreet a clear-greyish liquid when they 'bleed' whereas a full would have skin texture close to that of a stone, are notably heavier and would simply break into pieces if you hit them hard enough. Full vampires also, when fed have entirely dark red, almost black eyes and when deprived their eyes become a cloudy dark grey. The mark of a full vampire and other demons is the pentagram, and half vampires and anyone they may be linked to are marked with the heartagram. The sun does effect half bloods though not as severely as it would a full vampire. Namely they would get burns but not as soon as they are exposed, especially if they are wearing clothes and sunglasses the effects wouldn't be too detrimental, for a good few hours. Leave a half blood naked in the sun for around 12 hours and he'd be very close to dead however.
Halfblood Maturity, Soulmates etc -- Ville was born in the realm and 15 years later would reside in Helsinki, one of the halfbloods' favored places to live, and is of course told of his abilities and differences once he can comprehend them. It is around the preteens that these beings are allowed to explore human life if they wish and Ville was taken by this and went with it, starting his schooling as well as music, then dropping out to only focus on his music and making a career of it soon on after. It is also around this age they are told that upon their maturity at age 25, and when they stop aging, their intuition will be at it's peak and they will be drawn to someone, male or female regardless as well as human or half vampire, who is destined to be their true love or soul mate. Before this occurs, the young halfbloods would be able to decide if they want to date others until then, or stay single until they know they'll find the one. (It is also possible, but rare and they may not be aware of it if they're not in maturity, for them to find the one sooner than 25.) In Ville's case, he does decide to date. Thus his melancholy songs about how "love is like a gun" and "love said no" and so on. He goes through lots of heartache, even though he knows it is inevitable given his circumstances. At 25 however that is when his intuition starts to steer him towards the one, Sarah, a human rising actress and he sees her at one of his concerts and things start to unfold.
Being a chosen human specifically, gives said person a mark they cannot see unless the two of them genuinely do fall in love and after, Ville would reveal it to her. Once she is chosen also, this can make the half vampire very infatuated and drawn to her blood, making it difficult to resist changing her. Ville has moderate control over this but having that connection does make it a challenge.
Naturally, once a human is chosen as a half blood's mate, this draws all kinds of energies and demons toward them. Full vampires kill humans for a living, and they know when to strike, thus Sarah and Ville would be on the run or at least prepared to put up a few fights.

-- Born in Helsinki, Finland on 22 November 1976. Ville Valo is son of Kari and Anita Valo. He also a younger brother named Jesse who is a professional Thai Boxer. He is half Finnish and half Hungarian, his father being Finnish and his mother being Hungarian. Ville Valo's full name (Ville Hermanni Valo) translates into English as William Herman Light.
-- Ville played in the band B.L.O.O.D from 1986-1989. He was also involved in numerous other musical projects.
-- From at least 1997 to 2000, Ville cut his hair himself with knives.
